Product Description
John J. Murphy has now updated his landmark bestseller Technical Analysis of the Futures Markets, to include all of the financial markets.

"If one could read only one book on technical analysis, this should be the one." --Knight-Ridder Financial Products and News (on the first edition, Technical Analysis of the Futures Markets, 0-13-898008-X)

This outstanding reference has already taught thousands of traders the concepts of technical analysis and their application in the futures and stock markets. Covering the latest developments in computer technology, technical tools, and indicators, the second edition features new material on candlestick charting, intermarket relationships, stocks and stock rotation, plus state-of-the-art examples and figures. From how to read charts to understanding indicators and the crucial role technical analysis plays in investing, readers gain a thorough and accessible overview of the field of technical analysis, with a special emphasis on futures markets. Revised and expanded for the demands of today's financial world, this book is essential reading for anyone interested in tracking and analyzing market behavior.

"One way to get started in technical analysis is to read a good book on the subject. One of my favorites is Technical Analysis of the Financial Markets: A Comprehensive Guide to Trading Methods and Applications by John J. Murphy. It's an easy read." Ralph J. Acampora, CMT, Managing Director, Prudential Securities Inc.

I have just purchased the book for the 2nd time to share with my team at work.

5 out of 5 stars Great book   September 25, 2009
Kenneth Rigdon (ms United States)
This book has some boring stuff, but if you want iformation about how the markets work and some good tips on what to look out for when trying to invest, along with detailed information on charts, then this book has it. Pace yourself when going thru it, even though some stuff is boring, and you will have a better understanding of the financial market and charts. This is one of the best books I have bought on Investing...

5 out of 5 stars Most comprehensive TA book I've read so far!   August 24, 2009
Dustin Owen (West Palm Beach, FL)
I bought this book to continue my reading on the subject on Technical Analysis. I already thought I had a good understanding of the subject, yet this book still provided me with much more. John Murphy, didn't fill the book with non-sense, and made the layout of the chapters very clear. The book does focus on one thing at a time, and makes the subject clear. I have recommended this book to all my peers, and I recommend it to anyone else interested in Technical Analysis.

2 out of 5 stars Not for the experienced traders....   July 27, 2009

If you've read Alexander Elders books or other good TA books, then this one has not got much to offer you.
It's not easy reading either...I liked Marcel Links "High probability trading" much better.

I'd rather go for something better maybe "Technical analyses" by Kirkpatrick og Dahlqust, it goes much more into the debt.

It is great to learn the TA from this book, especially the trend analysis;intermarket analysis.
