Product Description Dr. Seuss has been delighting millions with his silly and unusual stories since 1937. Filled with wonderfully rhythmic Seussian rhymes, this book will have your child learning the ABCs in no time. From Aunt Annie's Alligator to a Zizzer-Zazzer-Zuzz, each letter is accompanied by Dr. Seuss's nonsensical images and words: Camel on the ceiling, Uncle Ubb's umbrella and his underwear, too. Perfect for early readers, even the youngest Dr. Seuss fans will be able to recite text in no time, thanks to the repetitive use of each letter and easy-to-remember rhymes.
Amazon.com Review
BIG R, little r, what begins with R? Rosy's red rhinoceros. R...r...R From Aunt Annie's Alligator to Rosy's red rhinoceros to a Zizzer-Zazzer-Zuzz, learning the alphabet is bound to be fun with Dr. Seuss. And with this small, sturdy board-book version of his classic ABC book (Dr. Seuss's ABC), even the tiniest tots can indulge in a little alphabetical education. Each letter is featured with Dr. Seuss's unmistakably nonsensical illustrations and text: "Lion with a lollipop," "Camel on the ceiling," "Uncle Ubb's umbrella and his underwear, too." The youngest readers-to-be will get lots of letter practice with the repetitive use of each letter and the easy-to-memorize rhythmic rhymes. Soon your favorite preschooler will be reading this book aloud to you! (Baby to preschool) --Emilie Coulter

I thought it would be bigger. September 30, 2009 A. Schmidt (Morrison, CO) I really like this book, it's one of the more fun books for me to read to my 12 month old. I love that it is a board book so she can't rip it apart as easily. I did however, think it would be a bit bigger in size as there are a lot of pictures on each page. It seems hard for baby to pay attention to, almost overwhelming it seems. She still into books with more simple pictures to look at. I'm guessing she'll like it more when she's a bit older. For now, mommy likes it more than baby does.
love dr. seuss September 11, 2009 Penny (Texas) You can't go wrong with Dr. Seuss. I bought this for my eight month old son. He won't sit still long enough to actually read the book to him yet, but he likes to look at the pictures and turn the pages. He will appreciate it a little more as he gets older.
Small Book August 30, 2009 Mary C. Judson (Fruitland, Idaho United States) I thought this was a regular-sized Dr. Seuss book, it's not. It's a little less than 6X4 inches.
BE AWARE - THIS IS NOT DR.SEUSS'S ORIGINAL TEXT! August 6, 2009 Grant W. Benedict The first time I read this book to my son, I was so disappointed, because I knew, from memory, that many of the passages were incorrect. The beauty of the book, and Dr. Seuss's style of writing, is the varied and whimsical rhythm he gives to his stories, which, in the case of this ABC book, helped children learn and remember their letters - and this version is sadly missing much of the original intent.
Please Please PLEASE get the original version. I would love a board book version of the book, but not if it means this horribly cut up version, Most sadly, it is titled Dr. Seuss's ABC and nowhere on the book is it mentioned that this is NOT Dr. Seuss's original text.
Gets Stuck in Your Head! July 6, 2009 M. Lajimodiere (Denver, CO) I remember my parents reading this book to me when I was little. Yes, the board book is shortened from the original, but I think they did a nice job with that. Even being shortened it sometimes seems long for a 9 month old with a short attention span. I think that's the point.
This book REALLY gets stuck in my head. I love it! I especially like, "Big U, little u...what begins with U? Uncle Ubb's umbrella and his underwear too."
And then when your little one gets older and can sit for a longer period of time, get the full version of the book.
