Amazon.com Review Inspirational yet honest, and always rhythmically rollicking, Oh, the Places You'll Go! is a perfect sendoff for children, 1 to 100, entering any new phase of their lives. Kindergartners, graduate students, newlyweds, newly employeds--all will glean shiny pearls of wisdom about the big, bountiful future. The incomparable Dr. Seuss rejoices in the potential everyone has to fulfill their wildest dreams: "You'll be on your way up! / You'll be seeing great sights! / You'll join the high fliers / who soar to high heights." At the same time, he won't delude the starry-eyed upstart about the pitfalls of life: "You can get all hung up / in a prickle-ly perch. / And your gang will fly on. / You'll be left in a Lurch." But fear not! Dr. Seuss, with his inimitable illustrations and exhilarating rhymes, is convinced ("98 and 3/4 percent guaranteed") that success is imminent. As long as you remember "to be dexterous and deft. And NEVER mix up your right foot with your left," things should work out. (All ages) --Emilie Coulter

Magical, whimsical, a literary masterpiece! November 9, 2009 R. Calixto (San Gabriel, CA USA) This is my personal favorite from Dr. Seuss. The whimsical drawings in this book are so incredibly original and magical. The language is simple and the rhymes are just perfect. If you only had enough money for one Dr. Seuss book, I would recommend this one. Between the lines, there is a "self-help" component to this book. The advices are timeless and universal. Just a great book to have on your shelf, whether you have kids or not!

Family Gift November 8, 2009 Sarah Milam (Texas!) As a former bookstore manager, I am well aware of the popularity of this book as a graduation gift. A few months ago, a lady from my MOPS group told us about this idea. Buy the book near your child's birth and put it away. As your child grows and develops relationships with family, friends, teachers and coaches...have these people write words of inspiration within the books cover. This makes the gift upon graduation so much more meaningful and memorable.
love it October 14, 2009 Chen Jin it's my speech instructor's favorite book. that's the reason i got it. u'll need it when u feel u r lost, and then u'll find urself
A classic for all ages. September 22, 2009 Joseph J. Donner (Berkeley Heights, NJ, USA) Everyone should read this book several times over a lifetime. It holds pearls of wisdom that we sometimes overlook as we move through life.
Wonderful encouraging and gently bracing stuff September 7, 2009 Gauteng (VA, United States) I find this little book quite poignant because Dr. Seuss has managed to squeeze the hard won wisdom of adulthood into an innocuous text and without being cynical or disingenuous, tells the young reader that life will be both sweet and sour. It is at heart, though, an exhortation to go out and find the world and be all that you can be. I think this is a wonderful message in a time when there is much concern and fear for the wellbeing of our children which could result in diminished opportunities and fewer adventures as we attempt to shield them. The book is well made and comes in a protective sleeve. Its quality and the removing of the sleeve impressed my daughter and gave our bedtime read a ceremonial flair.
