| Customer Reviews: Loved it!! November 21, 2009 Amy C. O'neil (BALTIMORE, MD) Again, Alane did not fail me. it was wonderful and I hope she writes more in the series. I would love to know what happens with Cammie when she starts college. I also need to know if things work out with Justin. What happens to the good doctor? I just will have to wait and hope We will find out...
One of the Best Books Ever! November 14, 2009 Maria Soria I waited a long time for The Dying Breath to come out. And when it did, it did not disappoint. The return of Kyle O'Neil and the budding relationship between Cameryn and Justin give the perfect intensity to the novel. The plot is full of twists and turns and at the ending is perfect. The Dying Breath is one of the best books I have ever read.
CSI Fans Should Read These Books! October 26, 2009 Darcy Wishard (Kelso, WA) These books have been so popular here in the library that I was anxious to review this book to see what all the hub-bub is about. Well I was really impressed. Which doesn't surprise me because believe it or not you guys....teens and tweens are fairly discerning readers!
My only disappointment is that I wish I would have read the first three books (which I will now) because although the author does an excellent job of giving you most of the back story, I have a feeling I would have been a lot more emotionally invested in the characters if I'd read the previous books in the series.
These are ultimate books for teens and reluctant readers! They are fast paced and easy reads. Cameryn is an original and trailblazing lead character. I love that she is a total science geek and forensics protege! If you know a teen who is a CSI fan then you have found a series for them!
In addition to the forensics and CSI factor there is also the boyfriend and crush factor. Cameryn may be a brilliant forensics student but she is still in high school and all the normal teen angst factors still apply.
This is an excellent series that would do well in any middle school and high school library. Heck, adults will enjoy them too!
Forensic gore factor make this series best suited for 7th grade and up.
The first 3 books in A Forensic Mystery Series:
Book 1: The Christopher Killer
Book 2: The Angel of Death
Book 3: The Circle of Blood
One of the best! October 24, 2009 G. Messick
One of Alane's best books to date. As always these books will scare the pants off
of you and thrill and excite you all at the same time. I become a member of the
wonderful family in this book everytime and I am always sad when the book ends.
Please give these wonderful books a try you will not regret it I promise.
Please write more Alane!
Book review of "The Dying Breath" October 21, 2009 Susan Murray (Atlantis) I really enjoyed "The Dying Breath" by Alane Ferguson. The fact that Cameryn is still being stalked by her ex-boyfriend, Kyle, makes it more suspenseful because your not sure of how he is stalking her and why. The strange twist of the book is that Kyle kills three people in an unusual way so Cameryn, Dr. Moore, and the police have a hard time figuring out how he killed them. This makes the book a page turner. The creepy part is Kyle wants Cameryn to figure out how he killed he the three people, so she will be fascinated by how comitted the crime. It is also suspenseful because Kyle threatens her and her new boyfriend Justin Crowley and it makes you wonder if Kyle is going to do anything to them and if they will be okay. The police also have to determine how they are going to track him down and ensnare him.I think that Alane Ferguson has done a brilliant job with this book and I hope she continues to write more for this series.
