Yes, this book is well written and easily understandable. That is a large part of the problem with this book. You can't expect to thoroughly examine this theory in the scant few pages included in this tome of fantasy. This theory has no scientific proof. An equivalent theory with equal scientific proof would be that, the sun rises because the rooster crows. Early man believed that because he had seen an animal emerging from a rotting stump that the animal had spontaneously generated from the stump. Global warming is a farce, with about the same depth of proof as spontaneous generation or rooster crow, sun rise!

I had watched the video which Mr Gore made and I found that this book is the written version of it.
It is very clearly written, and illustrations impacted on me and helped a lot.
The book lacks technical data and scientific foundations, which would be a good complement. Some photographs comparing past and present time of same locations do not indicate the month in which they were taken. We must assume that they correspond to the same season but it is not clearly indicated.
I recommend it as good reading for everybody interested in the subject and specially for young people.

Someone said to me that half the best books in the world were written by liberal atheists. WHA?!?! Half of the best books in the world were written by LIBERAL ATHEISTS????!!!!! Yeah, right. Like what, the SATANIC BIBLE? Saint AL GORE'S democrat defense of the so-called "global warming" MYTH? Let me tell you something. It would be irresponsible to borrow money from our grandchildren to force everybody to cut back on "emissions" just to make their future better. Balloon the deficit just because some DEMOCRAT ABORTION PROMOTER is not sniffing glue?!?!? And who came up with these terms he uses? A carbon footprint? I'm a carbon based lifeform and my footprint is a size TEN AND A HALF!!! But that's no-bodys business anyway!!! I DONT ASK YUOU WHAT YOUR WIFES WAIST SIZE IS, DO I ??!!! After reading "An Inconvienent Truth: The Crisis of Gglobal Warming", I asked myself, it this thing saying that humans are Evil? It sure seemed that way. So, are humans Evil? Or, is Al Gore being ridiculous.
Where is the science? Where is the documentation? Where do I go to see the data? What experiments can I do to prove this assertion, one way or the other? Where are the references?
I did not see them here. I only saw assertions, backed by photos and graphics that illustrated the assertions.
So, I went on the internet. Is the Earth warming? Well it was until 2000, but seems to have slowed down since and a cooling cycle may have started. That is from official satellite data and whole bunches of scientists agree. Is the Earth's climate tied to CO2? Yes, but not as tightly as Gore claims. Also, Gore forgets to mention a half dozen factors that may be more important, including the fact that there is a change in the frequency and intensity of solar storms that may be pointing to global cooling.
Gore over does it in all respects. There are several scientists now saying that Gore's reasoning is poor and that rising sea levels will not reach more than a few feet over the next fifty years.
Gore is an alarmist. He wants us all to be Chicken Littles, running in circles and spouting, "The end is near! The Earth is Warming! The end is near!" If you research it yourself, you will find that some scientists do believe the Earth is warming. But, there is strong disagreement as to how fast or how far or for what reasons. Gore does not give us science, he gives us "Gore's Gospel". I would really prefer science.
