Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Meet Jack! Taking care of a pony is fun, but its a lot of work, too. Readers can follow along as Lacy grooms her pony, Jackfrom brushing his coat and tail to cleaning his hooves. This simple story with irresistible illustrations showing lots of visual clues is perfect for children just learning to read on their own. A picture glossary of terms is included.

Customer Reviews: Great for tiny toddlers who love horses March 26, 2009 Bioluminescence (California) My daughter, 21 mos, has loved this series for at least 6 months. This one is nice because it is simple and talks about the grooming tools.
Short and sweet October 11, 2006 M. Majmundar (Texas) My 6 years old daughter enjoyed reading the book. She learnt few new words from the book. She identified herself with Lacy in the story. Then, she pondered - how would I take care of a pet if I have one? This inspired her to write a short story about taking care of her future pet ;)
Fabulous Beginner Reader for Horse Lovers May 17, 2006 Gail J. Brown (Voorheesville, NY) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I work with youth in a library and select books for beginning readers. This is a fabulous beginner reader with excellent, telling illustrations that enhance the text with limited text on each page and a nonrigorous vocabulary. Those just beginning to read (and especially those children who love animals) will love to tackle this book and feel a sense of accomplishment when they say, "I just read this book!"
