Another fun easy-to-read story starring likable best friends Cork, a short muskrat, and Fuzz, a tall possum. When Cork loses his prize green stone, Fuzz finds it and says, "Finders keepers." But then a a chip-mouse ends up with the stone. How will the friends resolve this situation and remain best friends in the process? Come out to the woods and listen in. You'll be glad you did.
Excellent series for beginner readers June 23, 2009 z hayes (plano, texas) My 4.5-year-old is beginning to read and though this book is still above her reading level, we were both drawn to the adorable characters and engaging storyline. Cork is a rather wise little muskrat who befriends a precocious possum named Fuzz. In this installment, Cork and Fuzz are both best friends now and Cork loses his prized green stone which Fuzz then finds and decides to keep, quoting the phrase "finders keepers". It takes a while for Fuzz to learn that not all things found are meant to be kept. The stories are engaging and the full-color illustrations perfectly capture the two critters' antics. Highly recommended for beginner readers!
The engaging story of a short muskrat who likes to find things and a tall possum who likes to keep them April 18, 2009 Midwest Book Review (Oregon, WI USA) Level 3 readers ages 6-9 who can read alone will relish Dori Chaconas' CORK & FUZZ: FINDERS KEEPERS, with lovely drawings by Lisa McCue illustrating the engaging story of a short muskrat who likes to find things and a tall possum who likes to keep them. This fifth Cork & Fuzz easy reader will appeal to new fans and old fans alike.
I like the print letters with serifs, that are more readable, especially by kids that have trouble in reading.. March 26, 2009 MPD (USA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I like the print letters with serifs(flags on letters), that are more readable, especially by kids, and adults, that have trouble reading. Check NYT and other newpapers that really want you to read their stuff. Cutsy abstract print is not appropriate. New Times Journal, Garamond and New Courier are my favorites. Cork and Fuzz are an example.
Love the preschool and early elementary different-level books. I have a 2 yr old grand daughter, and 6 yr old 1st grade boy in same family. I love to send them books. He now can read the level 1 books to her. So sweet.
