The Complete Adult Psychotherapy Treatment Planner August 2, 2009 Jeannette A. Adamsms (Alhambra, CA USA) It takes the pain and work out of formulating a treatment plan and is a giant help in selecting a diagnosis when needed. The basic steps in the healing process make sense and are a good natural guide for developing good connections with clients and for taking them through their process in a gentle, progressive manner.
Simply helpful May 10, 2009 B. Young (Clinton, UT USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Where to begin...I spend much time in school learning theory after theory but with limited learning on how to apply them and how to make them work. Much time is spent on pathology and what it looks like and how to diagnosis using the DSM-IV-TR, but not much time is spent on using the techniques, so I picked up this book and wow what a helpful piece of writing. It gives you many ideas on where to go with your treatment and what some of the goals you should have during treatment.
The book focuses on EBP and treatment and is a great resource on creating treatment plans once the diagnosis has been established.
Great book April 16, 2009 J. Tinoco (Chicago) This is a great book to have if you are working on treatment plans. I had to do several this semester, this book walks you throught a treatment plan step by step as well as giving you specific suggestions. The book is broken down by diagnosis so is even better, if you are looking for anything specific like phobias all you have to do is look in the table of contents to find where it is. I would really recommend this book=)
Student Counseling Intern March 30, 2009 Kurt P. Mey 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Excellent aid for student interns with a variety of patients. Provides an excellent starting place to begin treatment. The best purchase I have made since beginning my internship.
Doesn't work for me February 14, 2009 S. Boyes (United States) 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this book as an upgrade from one I bought originally about 10 years ago. It doesn't work for me. Turns out I have enough experience at this point that the book is redundant and unnecessary. I returned it.
