Product Description
A realistic guide to day trading today's stock market The Truth About Day Trading Stocks is an uncompromisingly realistic look at the challenges involved in becoming a successful day trader. Based on author Josh DiPietro's ten years of experience as a day trader, this book dissects the psychological and strategic pitfalls that cause most aspiring day traders to fail. Written in an engaging and sometimes humorous tone, The Truth About Day Trading Stocks relates his own experiences, and in so doing, provides the reader with valuable lessons. This book is an antidote to trading industry hype that encourages traders to believe that trading is easily learned and is a fast path to wealth. It explains that the conventional route of attending seminars, buying software, and opening an account with a major brokerage house is a path to failure. Instead, a trader must learn hard lessons of self-discipline, consistency, and staying in the game for the long haul to have a real chance of success. The goal of this guide is to slow down the over-eager, over-optimistic amateur day trader by imparting a realistic view of the challenges of day trading and providing tools, techniques, and insights to become a successful trader without losing a huge amount of money in the process. Josh DiPietro (West Dennis, MA and New York, NY) has been day trading stocks for ten years. He operates a Web site, www.daytraderjosh.com, and provides training programs for aspiring day traders.

John Bowman November 23, 2009 John I. Bowman (USA) I thought it was a good book, and gave practical advice about a difficult topic. I don't understand why it is, however, that other reviewers did not notice that some important things are missing. The author gives no suggestions on how to make profitable trades. The author suggests paper trading which simulates real time trading and suggests that you paper trade until you are successful at it. I think that's a great suggestion, but he gives no suggestion on how to BE successful. He is totally silent on the technical analysis of stocks. Perhaps he is motivated to instill a cautious approach because he wants the reader to use his mentoring service, but whatever the motivation, it seems to me that is a real missing link in this book.
Great trading book! November 21, 2009 Jonathan R. Weiss (Phoenix, Arizona) I was looking to enhance and improve my day trading skills. I am an experienced investor and intelligent businessman. This was a great book, well worth the reading for anyone to learn from a successfull investment trader.
Perfect for me November 2, 2009 Jeff 777 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
As a new interday equities trader, this book was just the prescription I needed. It was to the point and filled with important nuggets of (learned the hard way) day trading wisdom. Josh has a great way of speaking to you in his book, so he kept my interest sparked. Thats's important because I really don't many books and for me to finish/comprehend one in a few days is absolutely amazing. I highly recommend this book...
Josh has practical solutions for our trading mistakes!!! November 1, 2009 Santon H. Craig (Ann Arbor, Michigan) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have made all the errors Josh talks about in his book, and for the same reasons. After reading his analysis as to why they would happen, I now understand how to correct these "foul balls, errors and strike-outs" in my day trading transactions. He indeed has well thoughtout solutions to improve my performance.
I'll post followup in about 2 months.
Truth About Day Trading October 26, 2009 Barbara Buch Truth About Day Trading Stocks is a great book! As a beginner I found the book easy to read and understand. I've read many books, but until now never found exactly what I was looking for. Since reading his book my trading has improved greatly, actually making profits. I would highly recommend this book for a beginner or advanced trader. Josh's honesty about the challenges and what it takes to be sucessful is so true and I have read his book more than once to remind myself some of the key issues he talks about. Great Book!
