Very helpful! August 29, 2009 nlc123 (USA) This book, written in an entertaining style, was just what I needed. The author covers complicated topics in a way that makes them easier to understand. Very helpful if you're taking a course or want a refresher.
Great book August 21, 2009 Just a person (USA) This is an excellent book. Many helpful examples and clear explanations. I enjoyed it a great deal.
Not for dummies August 2, 2009 D.J. (Eersel, the Netherlands) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
There are many steps missing in the derivations which the author may feel are obvious, but where not for me. Based on the title i expected more entrance level. Not recommended for starters in the topic but maybe useful as 'refresh'.
Pretty Good, But Not Great July 8, 2009 Just A. Geek I purchased a used copy of this book a month ago. I wanted an easy book for reviewing Differential Equations as I took a class in college a few years ago. The book is well laid out and given the prerequisite level of math background you need to understand (Calculus) to get into a class in Diff-Eq it is very good at explaining things. Unfortunately it is still a very difficult book to just try and read. I will be buying a copy of 'Differential Equations Workbook for Dummies' as a companion to this book, as this book definitely lacks enough workable examples to get a real feel for the concepts it tries to explain. I would definitely recommend that any student taking a first course in Diff-Eq buy this book as a companion study guide.
Diferrerential Equations for Dummies July 8, 2009 Kenneth J. Swift (Detroit, MI USA) This is a extremely well written and editted presentation. I have used this book as refresher course before I began going back to college (after 20 years) and it worked !!!!
