Product Description A mysterious high-profile homicide in the nation's capital collides with the dark side of national security in David Baldacci's new, heart-stopping thriller.TRUE BLUE Mason "Mace" Perry was a firebrand cop on the D.C. police force until she was kidnapped and framed for a crime. She lost everything-her badge, her career, her freedom-and spent two years in prison. Now she's back on the outside and focused on one mission: to be a cop once more. Her only shot to be a true blue again is to solve a major case on her own, and prove she has the right to wear the uniform. But even with her police chief sister on her side, she has to work in the shadows: A vindictive U.S. attorney is looking for any reason to send Mace back behind bars. Then Roy Kingman enters her life. Roy is a young lawyer who aided the poor until he took a high-paying job at a law firm in Washington. Mace and Roy meet after he discovers the dead body of a female partner at the firm. As they investigate the death, they start uncovering surprising secrets from both the private and public world of the nation's capital. Soon, what began as a fairly routine homicide takes a terrifying and unexpected turn-into something complex, diabolical, and possibly lethal.

Great Book, Love all his books, it arrived on time and already have read it
I loved it! November 20, 2009 Melinda Bailiff 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Wow I am surprised by the bad reviews. I loved this book and I read it in less than a week. This book starts out suspenseful and does not let up until the end which I have to admit leaves us hanging a bit. This book is more in the vane of one of his old novels Saving Faith and it does not resemble his last 3 or 4 books very much so maybe the bad reviews are from people who have not read his early works. If you liked the early novels from Baldacci you should like this one as well.
.Not Believable - Mace not likable November 20, 2009 Mary Smith 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have read or listened to, on audiobooks, eleven of Baldacci's books. This one is so unbelievable and Mace is so unlikeable. I listened to the first four discs, then skipped to the last disc just to see how it ended. I loved the Camel Club series. I like Sean King and Michelle. but Mace Perry not so much. I actually rooted for Mona. I hope Baldacci doesn't let his story lines go the way Patterson's have. I don't buy his books any longer. I would not recommend anyone read this book and unless reality doesn't matter.
Disappointing. November 19, 2009 Reader 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Baldacci can do a lot better than this! I was an avid reader of all of his books and eagerly awaited this new one, however I had to struggle to finish it and finally just skimmed it to see if it would ever improve. I just never got interested in this one.
I hope Baldacci has not fallen prey to just churning out books like Clancy and others have done.
Save your money...this is the worst book I have read all year and was so bad I had to force myself to finish it. November 19, 2009 DataMine (Orangevale, CA United States) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Save your money and take a pass on this one. I am a huge fan of Baldacci and was eager to read this book but what a disappointment: poor plot, terrible dialog, poorly developed story line and seems to have been written carelessly and without concern that he produce a quality book.
