Incredible book! October 2, 2009 M. deMuse This is an incredible book! The illustrations are exceptionally clear and well-laid out, and the text is very informative. This is definitely a great and necessary buy for medical/dental students.

I received the book at a much earlier date than the expected delivery date. The book arrived in perfect condition.

The title should be Gray's Anatomy for "med" students January 29, 2009 V. Cheng (San Jose, CA USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Overall I think this book is very good. Not very wordy and contain good amount of graphics which I believe is much more useful than text description. Why read about the description when you can see for yourself? However, I think the title of the book is misleading. "For Students" what students? College students? Med Students?
I think it is designed for med students who already have some knowledge of anatomy because each chapters stand for itself. The chapters are arranged by regions, so when talking about one region, the author would bring various topics like muscle, nerve, etc together. However, the author did not explain these things and so they must be assuming the reader already has some knowledge.
Therefore, this book is good and easy for people who already know some anatomy to learn anatomy in a clinical context. If you are just starting out to learn about anatomy, I believe a book that structured according to systems would be better introduction. If you want to learn anatomy seriously, outside of clinical context, you need to go for a more specialized book.
not great November 21, 2008 Apples and Oranges 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Gray's is fairly common assigned reading for anatomy, and probably should not be. On the plus side, there are lots of pictures so the actual reading is fairly light, and there are a few common clinical correlates. However, in my opinion, it also does not contain enough details and tends to be very repetitive. There's almost no physiology covered (as might be expected) but the words are simply a description of the graphics. In other words, if you'd rather have anatomy taught visually, there are atlases with better detail and drawings. If you learn anatomy better by anatomical descriptors, then this is your book.
