Product Description Cat lovers and francophiles rejoiceâThe Cat in the Hat in English and French is back in print! First published in 1967, this bilingual edition of the beloved classic has been unavailable for over a decade. Perfect for teaching beginning readers simple, conversational French or English, the story is here on each page in the language the reader already knows, to guide him or her in the language they are learning. The repetition makes it ideal for learning new words, and the hilarious plot makes it easy to read again and again. Learning a new language has never been so much fun!
Dr. Seuss is quite simply the most beloved childrenâs book author in the world.

| Customer Reviews: Great Idea! February 21, 2010 M. Braun (Fayetteville, AR, USA) It is a great idea to have these books in French and English. The only problem is that some of the charm of Dr.Seuss is lost in this exact translation. The rhyme rarely translates from French to English. Other than that, the book is very well done and the words are exact so it is a good learning tool.
The "Cat in the Hat" English & French version February 14, 2010 L L Raab (Paradise - central New York!) I've always enjoyed "The Cat in the Hat". I wanted to share it with my friends' children who speak English & French. I thought that they would appreciate how it rhymes in English and not in French. I was correct - they love the rhyme! I also sent them "Good Night Moon" in English & French. They hear & mimic the rhyme for that story too.
A+ Gift February 7, 2010 I love books! (Burlington, Ky USA) I purchased this book as a gift to a friend with a 15 month old grandson. My friend and I both share a love for the French language. She loved the book, and so did I. I may purchase one for my own collection and future grandchildren. A fun way to share Dr.Seuss no matter what age you are.
Lost in translation? December 26, 2009 Eliezer ben Avrohom (Brooklyn, NY) the entire joy of Dr Seuss's "Cat in the Hat" is its rhyming scheme. "Le Chat Au Chapeau" is a prose story with no rhyming scheme at all. If you're after the plot, I suppose it's ok but don't expect the "Cat in the Hat" experience.
