Product Description The 3rd edition of this popular resource is an invaluable study tool for certification and recertification as well as a superb way to ensure mastery of all of the key knowledge in anesthesiology. Nearly 1,000 review questions cover everything from the basic sciences to general anesthesia and subspecialty considerations, with an emphasis on the most important and clinically relevant principles. All of the questions have been pre-tested on residents at the Mayo Clinic to ensure that they are comparable in difficulty and content to those encountered when taking the boards. For every question, readers will not only find the correct answer and an explanation, but also page references to major anesthesia texts-making it easy to find more information on any subject.

edition is old May 18, 2009 Jean M. Nusbaum 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
I'm a little disappointed how old the edition is. Apparently in Oct. 2009 a new edition is coming out. The picture that is shown on Amazon is NOT for the old edition so it is misleading. If I had seen the picture of the book I actually received I would have realized it is an edition I had already used years and years ago.
Worth the money June 8, 2008 I. Perry (Narberth, Pennsylvania United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book does an excellent job of testing all relevant concepts. Some of the questions are artificially difficult and a little on the difficult side, but if you learn the answers your boards will be a success. I just finished the book for the second time and noticed a marked difference in my ability to remember the concepts that i had seen before. i definitely recommend this question book.
Awesome Review Book February 19, 2008 Karen E. Nase (Rochester, MN) 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
It's just as good as learning from the authors in person. Comprehensive with nice discussion of answers, sectioned by system, and a good format to review topipcs.
2 Thumbs up February 6, 2008 A. Chacon (Orange County, CA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I had the pleasure of working with Brian Hall for a couple of years and he is a fantastic educator and is always quizzing himself and others to keep everybody sharp. I used this book for my written board review and found it to be very helpful. The residents nearly universally used this review at the Mayo Clinic and seemed to feel that it was of substantial help in their preparation.
