5 out of 5 stars C++ is A++   November 8, 2009

I am using this in a class and so far it is very good, well organized,
and logical.

5 out of 5 stars Great book.   May 31, 2009

been trying to learn c++ for a while, but have lost interest using other texts. picking it up quite easily with this book so far..about 70 pages in right now...

4 out of 5 stars Book gets you programming right away   April 12, 2009
L. Chalfant (Iowa, USA)
The book does as it promises - it gets you (my son) programming right away. It presents the details of what the statements are doing slowly and not overwhelmingly. I didn't give it 5 stars because the accompanying CD for the compiler and the run environment didn't load right (and seemed primitive - have to load/run from a DOS prompt???). HOWEVER, we simply went to Microsoft's site and downloaded the FREE Visual C++ Express edition which makes compiling and running SIMPLE so you can focus on the programming. It even gives you an express version of SQLServer.

3 out of 5 stars Definite help   March 20, 2009
Rebecca L. Cunningham
This book saved my life. I could not follow the text given at college. C++ Without Fear was just what I needed for clarification. I can pass the class now.

4 out of 5 stars I can't put the book down! Awesome book for learning the basics.   July 27, 2008
gleng (Houston, Texas)
This is a great book for those of you who know little or no c++. Builds a great understanding of basics. I'm about half way through and can't put the book down. Only thing I have to say negative about it, is in one exercise there was an error in the source. Other then that, I would highly recommend this book.
