Amazon.com Review
The book that started the phenomenon is now available in a deluxe collector's edition! Featuring a ribbon bookmark, cloth cover, ragged edges, new chapter opener designs, and a beautiful protective slipcase, this edition is perfect for fans and collectors alike.

Bella Swan's move to Forks, a small, perpetually rainy town in Washington, could have been the most boring move she ever made. But once she meets the mysterious and alluring Edward Cullen, Bella's life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn. Up until now, Edward has managed to keep his vampire identity a secret in the small community he lives in, but now nobody is safe, especially Bella, the person Edward holds most dear.

Deeply romantic and extraordinarily suspenseful, Twilight captures the struggle between defying our instincts and satisfying our desires. This is a love story with bite.

5 out of 5 stars Don't Take Twilight So Seriously and You Will Love It!   November 7, 2009
Kim0410 (Strongsville, OH)
In reading some of these reviews, I am surprised by how seriously some are taking this series. I am in my mid 30's and LOVED Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse (feeling just ho-hum about Breaking Dawn)! I can understand that these are not the most well-written books and sure, there are flaws, but Twilight is an easy read and is a story that completely swept me away... it has been a long time since I was mesmerized by a story and felt compelled to stay up into the wee hours of the night reading. Books are meant to entertain us and to allow us to be "lost" in another world for a little while. I enjoyed the story and took it just as that... an enjoyable and imaginative story.

2 out of 5 stars Meyer is no Rowling   November 5, 2009

I read this series to keep up with the pre-teen and teen girls in my neighborhood. I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. These read like they were written by a 12-year-old. Meyer is no J.K. Rowling, that's for sure. You can blast through one of these puppies in a couple of hours. Meyers seems to make up unnecessary characters when she runs short on creativity (i.e. if 5 vampires are good, then 30 will be better). This is especially true in the last book. And book #3 was pretty useless.

5 out of 5 stars A saga that will be loved by all just like twilight   November 5, 2009
Mary Y. Mckelvin (Bronx, NY USA)
I started to read the series because the first television season was awesome. But come to find out the book series is just as awesome. It has a different twist than the season 1 and 2 but trust me it's okay. Now I just watch the the television show and compare what I read and it's fun.

1 out of 5 stars ...ugh another hype   November 5, 2009
Tanya (USA)
Well to start this out from the beginning i didn't like the idea of twilight but i thought i would read it and give it the benefit of the doubt. well i read it and i have to say i have an even worse opinion on the book. The book was so stereotypical with stuff that can set it apart BUT the things that set apart make it worse such as, "twinkling" when did vampires ever twinkle what are they tinker bell now? or the whole "vampire bad boy falls for the average popular girl". Bella Swan is another vapid female, she has no passion in anything all she does is get herself into to trouble and fall into a dangerouse crowd and her so called "love" is just a intense lust for the handsome guy. The male lead Edward Cullens is the stereotypical bad boy but thats not the problem with him it is that he is CREAPY!!! he stalks her, he is abusive, all he wants is her blood and mistakes that as love. I do not recommend to anyone unless they want a good laugh and a waste of a day or two.

1 out of 5 stars I don't get it.   November 4, 2009

I'm a middle-aged professional woman. This book was recommended to me by one of my best friends, herself a very intelligent, middle-aged professional woman with two young sons, who read this book presumably to be aware of what's going on with the youngsters and be an informed Mom, which I totally respect. She could not give this book enough high praise, and not just for the young adults, but thoroughly enjoyed it for herself. Then another intelligent, professional, middle-aged female friend read it and said she liked it so much she immediately went out, bought and read all the other Twilight series books. And this was on an recommendation from YET ANOTHER middle-aged, intelligent, professional woman who apparently stayed home from work one day to read one of these Twilight books. I have the highest regard for all these women. So, knowing that this was geared to young adults, and thinking that it would be a fun change of pace, I set out to find the cheapest copy of this book I could find and give it a whirl. I found a small-version paperback in a bin at the grocery store for $6.99.

What a total waste of time and money. From the very beginning I had to FORCE myself to read this book and it never got any better. I kept waiting for the good part to kick in. It was so painful to read. So predictably boring. I know there's got to better YA stuff out there. Surely. But I will never know because I won't risk it again. Not even on the recommendation of my best friends.
