A unique book! October 17, 2009 G. Massimo (Italy) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
A wonderful book, but not for newbye. Sometimes it will be useful more step by step instructions.
Best of the Lot October 5, 2009 Tom Clark (Duvall, WA United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was sad to finish this book, so immediately proceeded to read it again from the start. This is a great Photoshop reference, period. Although there are very useful techniques for photo montage, this book will help you for any kind of post-production Photoshop editing. Unfortunately, there are a lot of expensive but frankly mediocre books on Photoshop and CS4, most of which pad their content with rehashes of Photoshop basics. It's astonishing how lazy some authors are, both in the selection of topics and the lame graphic examples (snapshots of their kids) they use. Caplin, by contrast, delivers useful material from page one and covers a wide range of techniques with clever and interesting examples. Don't be put off by the cheezy title and cover. This book is far more than it appears to be.
Great for any lvl of experience September 28, 2009 F. Alexander Indo 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have been in the design industry for 3 years now, this book has been an excellent read. I have learned a lot of things that have been extremely helpful I would recommend this book to anyone as there are some things he shows you how to do that you more than likely never knew about. And if not it can always be a good reference. Some of the instructions in the tutorials can be a little vague, I'm into chapter 5 and have run into it only twice. (Google is a great reference in this case). All in all excellent job, great content, and the bonus dvd is fabulous.
Excellent Resource September 28, 2009 Joshua D. Kuhn Excellent resource for anyone using Photoshop. It's complete, and it's easy to use this book scross multiple versions of Photoshop, not just CS3. Highly recommended.
Fabulous book! August 28, 2009 Kathleen Meyer (Wilmington, NC) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Run, don't walk, and get this book. I have skads of books on Photoshop, but this is by far the best I've ever read. I would give it six stars if I could; I really enjoy how the author mixes his humor and considerable knowledge to make each technique simple (although this book is not for beginners). This book is a winner. If you are wavering on whether or not to buy the book, buy it!
