Customer Reviews:
2 out of 5 stars Layed out like a web page   November 23, 2008

The content seems ok, but the non-linearity of the layout reminds me of a web page.

Callouts, asides, and small panels that contain bits of information make it difficult for students to differentiate between core material and enriching facts. My son sometimes misses an important fact that is only described in a panel separate from the main content.

The tendency to favor visual interest over pedagogic design is an unfortunate trend in textbooks and reflects publishers' experience with book selection committees who are swayed by visual impact.

If you're into math as we are around our house you will certionly benifit from this one. It's a fun book and the answeres can be checked from the answer sheet inside. There are different problems that can busy you're mind at the grade 3 and 4 level. Worth trying.
