 Wonderful book that inspires creative play November 14, 2009

I just bought this book for my 3 1/2 year old for Christmas. We have borrowed it from the library and he absolutely loved it. We read it over and over again (even the same night). The book has wonderful illustrations and shows children using their imagination in their play. (Like when the boy uses the vacuum cleaner hose as his fire hose. Fabulous). I am sure we will get many more years of enjoyment out of it.
As for the woman who said it has too many words for a 4 year old. Not true if you child loves to read as mine does. He sits through the entire thing over and over and over again.

I was very excited to find this book on Amazon. I ordered it along with a pair of fireman rubber boots. I ordered them in plenty of time for them to arrive for my son's birthday...or so I thought. The items came from different sources, so were obviously shipped separately. The birthday came and went and still no book. I double checked my order confirmation and emailed the company to see what the hold-up was. Their response was that it could take up to 30 days (or whatever time frame they gave). I realized that it was still within that time frame so I held my tongue. However, by the time that the book did arrive, it was two days past their timeline. And, to top it all off, the book was bent (it is not hardcover, but still) and it was only shipped in a paper envelope. Not sure what took so long. The book is cute, but not worth the wait. Won't order from this place again.
P.S. I told a lady that I work with about the book and she ordered one for her grandson and got it within one week. Very frustrating.

I bought this as a gift for a little boy who loves fire trucks. I did glance through it before wrapping it and the picture quality is great and the story is cute. I am sure that he will enjoy it.

My husband is a firefighter/paramedic. He works with police officers too, and they ALL love this book for their kids. There aren't too many words on each page so it keeps the little one's attention. Its illustrations are also a great way to show how kids still have an imagination without involving the TV! Highly recommended!!
