Customer Reviews: Got What I Needed February 12, 2010 D. Wang (Boston, MA) Although the front cover was a bit ripped and everything, the insides were still good. This book was required for a C-programming class that I am currently taking in college. Content-wise, it is pretty easy to understand. They give you example programs throughout the book so it is easy to grasp the topic at hand.
Excellent Book for Engineers October 30, 2008 Todd B. Anderson (Minneapolis, MN USA) Over the past 10 years, I have recommended this book to engineers who are trying to learn C and apply it to control situations. I learned "embedded C" from this book.
Especially interesting to me were some "out of the box" concepts that Dr. Etter introduces, such as structure charts in chapter 4.
The methodology for problem solving is another example - a concept that engineers can grasp.
Her notes on Style and Debugging are tremendous!
I go back to this book often when I am working with C code.

A good, easy to follow C programming book with introduction to C++.
A disappointment January 29, 2001 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
What should have been a definitive work on classical C programming is seriously flawed by the presence of dozens and dozens of errors. The basic idea is excellent: that is, to relate the learning of C to real life engineering applications. A good editor could have made this an excellent text.
An Enlightening Book with C! August 4, 2000 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
The book presents many ready-to-use problem solving methodologies using the C language. This is a great book for those who would like to write the classical engineering or scientific applications.
