| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description The emphasis of Managerial Accounting, 8e is on teaching students to use accounting information to best manage an organization. In a practice Hilton pioneered in the first edition, each chapter is written around a realistic business or focus company that guides the reader through the topics of that chapter. Known for balanced examples of Service, Retail, Nonprofit and Manufacturing companies, Hilton offers a clear, engaging writing style that has been praised by instructors and students alike. As in previous editions, there is significant coverage of contemporary topics such as activity-based costing, target costing, the value chain, customer profitability analysis, and throughput costing while also including traditional topics such as job-order costing, budgeting and performance evaluation.

| Customer Reviews: Good but not great May 16, 2009 L. Woolley (Hartford, CT) I have now read 2/3rds of this book and found the content to be adequate and consistently organized. The explanations are straight forward and to the point. What this book lacks is any great insights. If you want a review or introduction to the terminology and basic process this book will work. Don't expect it to show anything that would help you gain important insights into possible systematic improvements or an understanding why it is done a particular way. This book will help you pass a class: done.
accounting class April 13, 2009 LaBreak I need this book for an accounting class. Overall it is good; you do learn a lot of information on managerial accounting and the different process like manufacturing overhead and sunk cost.
So it is very informative
Excellent textbook February 28, 2009 Maya Brown 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The textbook took longer than expected to arrive however, it was in excellent condition and was exactly what I expected.
cheaper at amazon February 13, 2009 Sana Zuhaad 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The book is pretty good but very expensive. I got it a lot cheaper at amazon ($147.00) than any other online or book stores( $184.00). The book was brand new, exactly how it was described
