Product Description "Elementary Statistics: A Brief Version", is a shorter version of the popular text "Elementary Statistics: A Step by Step Approach". This softcover edition includes all the features of the longer book, but it is designed for a course in which the time available limits the number of topics covered. It is for general beginning statistics courses with a basic algebra prerequisite. The book is non-theoretical, explaining concepts intuitively and teaching problem solving through worked examples and step-by-step instructions. This edition places more emphasis on conceptual understanding and understanding results. This edition also features increased emphasis on Excel, MINITAB, and the TI-83 and TI-84. It also features graphing calculators, and computing technologies commonly used in such courses.

Elementary Statistics : A Brief version May 26, 2009 Carlos R. Barron (Milwauke, WI) Well I needed the book fast to help my sister in law in the math portion. I was lucky that Amazon had that as a used book and helped me a lot . The book in itself is very good the theory is explained very well plus some examples and the exercises with answers to the odd numbers I did the even and did ok; my sister in law passed the course.
In other words it was a life saver for me ; I am glad Amazon exsists.:)
Sincerely
Carlos R. Barron (in Milwaukee,WI)

I had a probability and statistics class and this book was somewhat helpful. I actually found that the teacher's instruction was more understandable than the book. But it wasn't completely unuseful. Itis good to have for class.
