| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description The market leading Essentials of Investments, 6e by Bodie, Kane and Marcus is an undergraduate textbook on investment analysis, presenting the practical applications of investment theory to convey insights of practical value. The authors have eliminated unnecessary mathematical detail and concentrate on the intuition and insights that will be useful to practitioners throughout their careers as new ideas and challenges emerge from the financial marketplace. Essentials maintains the theme of asset allocation (authors discuss asset pricing and trading then apply these theories to portfolio planning in real-world securities markets that are governed by risk/return relationships).

Good book September 27, 2009 F22Rahman The book came about 1-2 weeks later after I placed the order. It was the first time I ordered a book online. At first I was skeptical whether I could trust this form of purchasing. But, to my surprise, not only did the book arrive on time, it was in perfect condition. And not to mention, 8 bucks for a textbook that is in great condition is definitely worth the wait!
Received timely and in good condition. July 30, 2009 W. Murray This book is was received in excellent condition and has been very helpful in my studies.
Grueling Read July 11, 2009 Ryan Stutzman (Seattle, WA) The authors make even the interesting areas of finance unimaginably dull with long, confusing sentences and few real world examples. I also think the textbook is setting students up for failure by presenting formulas without enough discussion of the assumptions going into those formulas. All in all, it's a text by academics for academics.
Also, one of the authors is said to have "spent two years at Fredie Mac, where he helped to develop MORTGAGE PRICING and CREDIT RISK MODELS."
Ummmm?
A Tough Read August 30, 2008 B. Allen I would have to agree with what others had to say about this book. It is dense and written in such an "academic" way, that Cramer could not understand what they are saying. To be sure, I am not a student but bought this as reference. The best part of the text is that it features lots of CFA type questions.
Defect July 6, 2008 Chong Hwa Gimera 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
The book was torn in many places and has many missing pages. It was impossible to make use of the book. I will have to say that it was deceptive to sell such a book.
