| Customer Reviews: A good study guide May 15, 2008 Ziklag (Schenectady NY) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Get this book and the Q and A review guide and do the chapters concurrently in both books. Maybe read the chapter in this book, take the Q and A and review the answers to the questions after completing them. Overall, this book is a good buy if you are re-certing.
PANCE review October 27, 2007 C. Brittsan (South Carolina) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this book to study for the PANCE. I also bought the Lange Q & A practice test edition 5. I'm glad I bought both books because the outline review although accurate seems incomplete. A lot of material in the practice test book is not covered in the outline review. By the way, page 556 suggests Charcot's triad is flank pain, abdominal mass, and hematuria of a kidney mass. But all I have found regarding Charcot's triad is that it's fever, jaundice, and right upper quandrant pain from an infected obstruction of the common bile duct. Update: after being a stay-at-home mom and not practicing medicine for several years, I took the PANCE Jan 2009, and I passed. The most helpful thing was taking as many practice tests as I could find.
Great Review Book July 15, 2007 J. Rempe (Nebraska) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I loved this book to study for end-of clinical rotation exams as well as boards. It is a general overview when you want a quick refresher, and has plenty of room in the margins to write notes. I got the outline review in combination with the Q&A book and feel they were very beneficial. I still pull out the outline review book every so often now that I am a practicing PA-C.
Concise and succulent May 29, 2007 M. Ober (Lancaster, PA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This book is concise. It is organized in an easy to study format and pulls the most important facts to the forefront.
Great PANCE prep February 5, 2007 Oscar R 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Quite a bit of info in here. Sure, some zebras, but the answers are usually pretty short and sweet. I made a ton of notecards from the questions that I didn't know.
I used the purple book, this one, and the Kaplan PANCE prep book over the course of a month. I read every page, read every question, took every quiz of each book and did fine on the PANCE last week.
