Amazon.com Review The keys to overweight are liver toxicity, waterlogged tissues, fear of eating fat, excess insulin, and stress, asserts nutritionist Ann Louise Gittleman. Her Fat Flush Plan addresses these problems with a targeted diet. The Fat Flush Plan, filled with nutritional analysis and detailed explanations, is not a quick read. Despite Gittleman's assertion that the plan is "as easy as 1-2-3," it is quite regimented. No white flour, white sugar, margarine, vegetable shortening, artificial sweeteners, or caffeine. The diet emphasizes essential oils (e.g., flaxseed and GLA), protein (eight ounces or more, plus two eggs a day), vegetables, thermogenic spices (e.g., ginger and cayenne), water, and diuretic beverages (eight glasses/day of diluted, unsweetened cranberry juice). In its first two-week phase, the plan is a rigid, low calorie (1,100-1,200 calories/day), low-carb (no grains or starchy vegetables) diet. Phase two lets you increase your calories to 1,500 and add two "friendly carbs." Phase three, the "lifestyle program," moderately adds more dairy, carbs, and calories. Gittleman promotes walking and recommends strength training in phase three. The book includes 41 recipes such as Grilled Lamb Chops with Cinnamon and Coriander, Breakfast Egg Fu Yung, and Cumin Sautéed Scallops. The Fat Flush Plan is recommended for dieters willing to commit to a strict plan for weight loss. --Joan Price

Not a fat fix for me March 7, 2010 Seastur Shopper (San Diego, Ca) Well, in all the attempts to lose weight this isn't the plan. There is no way anyone with a "normal" brain could keep up with this diet. It probably works if you do it her way but just giving up the coffee I never made it past that.
A KEEPER January 25, 2010 Jacquelyn Watkins (Phila, PA) Haven't really read the whole book but I did see some pointers which make me want to keep it and read more.
Changed the way I think about food January 25, 2010 healthy again (Massachusetts) This diet is amazing. I shouldn't even call it a "diet" because its really a way of life...the way we should all live. the first two weeks are hard, but you will reap the benefits. I have tweaked the plan to fit my life and I still continue to lose weight. My energy is back (and it was sooooo far gone that I even went to my doctor about it), I no longer feel bloated, no longer hungry, and I no longer have cravings for processed foods. I actually now crave foods that are healthy! AMAZING. This book has changed my life. I've moved on to reading other books on the subject matter and I am looking forward to a long, healthy life :)
Easy, Healthy, Affordable Weight Loss Plan! January 11, 2010 Randi Weems (Chandler, Arizona United States) I purchased this book to help me lose some excess baby weight. It's not an easy plan to follow at first but it gets easier. I am only on day 4 and I have lost 3 pounds already and I am starting to feel better. My skin is clearing up and I am sleeping better at night. I had to buy the Fat Flush Cookbook as well because I am not inventive in the kitchen and I found dozens and dozens of mouth-watering recipes. So far, this plan seems to be smart, practical and healthy!
Amazing! January 9, 2010 Turkessa Y. Gaskin I gained 85 pounds during my pregnancy and only lost half of it before I began the Fat Flush plan. By then my daughter was 20 months. I stayed in Phase 1 for 30 days and lost 15 pounds. I did veer off the plan a few times, but still lost weight. The book recommends that you jump on a mini trampoline for exercise, but I didn't purchase one. Maybe if I did, I would have had better results. My boyfriend did TFFP with me and lost 30 pounds in 30 days! I need to lose 30 more pounds, so I am about to start all over again. I am not gonna jump on a trampoline, but I am going to use my Wii Active. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to lose a lot of weight...fast!
