Product Description The original Butter Bell crock keeps butter soft, delicious and spreadable for up to 30 days without refrigeration. Through the study of traditional and historical butter storage methods and hours of product development, L. Tremain, Inc. has created a line of butter crocks that are a tribute to the original French butter crock or "beurrier" (pronounced bur-e-ay). Made from durable stoneware or dolomite clays, the Butter Bell crocks will safely keep butter fresh and spreadable without refrigeration, odors or spoilage. The Butter Bell's unique design enhances butter's delicate flavor, while providing a practical and decorative solution for storing and serving butter. It keeps butter at the perfect "spreading" consistency by reflecting outside heat while insulating and cooling the butter. Flavor and freshness is protected by an airtight seal of water at the base of the crock. Water should be changed out every three days and replaced with fresh, cold water. Store the crock away from heat or sunlight. To use, firmly pack softened butter into the bell-shaped lid, pour cold water into the base of the crock and place the lid upside down back into the base of the crock. This antique white linen colored Butter Bell features a decorative embossed pattern that is hand-distressed to create a well-worn look. It is a beautiful addition to any kitchen or tabletop. Dishwasher safe.

butter bell CROCK March 18, 2010 Ava D. Dahl (Scottsdale, Arizona) Who does not like soft real BUTTER? This is an amazing little keeper of real butter - even in HOT Arizona! Just keep your fingers away from the rim as mold can grow if you neglect to change the water. Otherwise, I am buying one for everybody's birthday gifts. They are timeless!!!
great butter dish March 15, 2010 J. Miller (Washington DC) Color not what I expected (we got the antique sienna) - just more mustard than the pic shows. But we love it, works well, great suction. Highly recommend.
What a great "old" idea. March 5, 2010 Mimsey (Sacramento, CA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I ordered the Butter Bell Crock in Antique Ivory Rose and it looks great on a granite counter top in a modern kitchen. It has made cooking so much more convenient & quick without my having to microwave the butter out of the refrigerator. (No matter how carefully you do it, the zapped butter always has cold hard spots & hot melted spots.) Fresh butter is now always available in a spreadable form & this is especially nice for breakfast toast. The little crock holds exactly 1 stick of butter (bring the stick to room temp on the counter, then pack it into the Bell -- very easy). The Butter Bell is heavy & nice quality, well-finished with no rough edges. I run it thru the dishwasher occasionally, but that's probably not such a good idea as the gold gilt will probably wear off eventually. I routinely dump out the old water & put in fresh water every few days, but it only takes five seconds. The water in the Butter Bell stays clear & clean.
Find of the year! February 18, 2010 Fran Keeping (Norfolk, CT) Have you ever had the butter dish that had no handle? have you ever had butter melt all over the place on a hot day? do you love red? ... well, I just love my new Butter Bell Crock. I wanted a red one, although there are many other wonderful options. My Florida daughter introduced me to hers and I fell in love. It's the best concept. It arrived well packed and in tact and I couldn't wait to fill the bell with butter and turn it upside down in the water well ~ then enjoyed creamy fresh butter. You can too!
Love it February 8, 2010 Caron A. Hewes It is so nice to have spreadable butter all the time. The kids love to fill it with butter...
