Great Baby Gift October 19, 2009 APL (New York) My son wore these socks until he grew out of them. Babies are constantly loosing socks, and this is an adorable and practical gift. My son wore the Johnnies and my daughter wore the Mary Janes - they were her signature look! But buy the larger size - the newborns are so small they grow out of them almost overnight.
Love it!! September 29, 2009 A. Young (33172) This is the second time I buy this socks because They are very useful on babies and I got a lots of compliments.
coolest socks ever June 8, 2009 Edyta I love these socks!!! size 0-12 months is a little too big for for my almost 4 months old son BUT they don't fall off and don't leave marks on his tiny legs. I will buy them as a baby shower gift to all my friends.
cute (but overpriced) April 15, 2009 Lisa T (Atlanta, GA) I purchased these socks (boy & girl) as a gift for baby showers. When they arrived, I inspected them and they are VERY cute - exactly as pictured. Also, you can't really tell from the photo, but the box they come in looks like a mini sneaker box, and it's cute too. I saw other brands with similar sneaker-style socks, but those have "laces" that are woven into the sock pattern. I chose these because of the sewn-on bow that I feel gives these socks a more realistic look. However, WITH THE BOY SOCKS, that same bow is a negative to the product, because the ribbon used to make them is not sealed at the ends, and a couple of the bows were showing signs of unraveling. That is unacceptable for socks as expensive as these! WITH THE GIRL SOCKS, the ribbon is made of a different material (a stretchy nylon) that didn't show signs of fray, although the bows were kind of crumpled up and out of shape. For a gift, these are sure to be a crowd pleaser, even if they do fall apart later. But if you're shopping for your own kids and looking for durability, these may not be for you. Of course you could always use a fray control product (or even a dab of superglue) on the ends, but again that's too much work for socks at this price point.
I've read many reviews about how these socks run small and the kids can't wear them long, but when I inspected the socks, I slipped a couple of them on my hand (which I'd say is medium sized). They are very stretchy, and I pulled them down about one inch shy of my wrist. With that, I feel like they will get some decent use. I can't see why a sock that fits almost my whole hand wouldn't fit a child's foot. Then again, I don't have any kids so I'm not really sure about how fast they grow!
Cutest socks ever! March 11, 2009 C. Boyll (Arlington, VA United States) I learned from a cool mom that kids don't really need shoes the first year since they're not walking yet. So, I got 2 sets of these and these are what my son wore for his first year! Everyone who sees them is tickled pink by how cute they are. They really look like shoes and are quite comfy for baby.
Anyway, I will make these socks a standard newborn gift for new parents of boys I know, and the Mary Jane ones for those who have girls. :-)
