5 out of 5 stars Excellent!   November 17, 2009

A very, very satisfying item. The marksmanship is excellent. I even though to give it 4 just for overdoing it! It is cheaper than the official one, but much more organized and easier on the eye, too. I bought it just to have an extra cable for the Wii, though there isn't much difference between 480i and 480p. Very satisfied.

1 out of 5 stars Just plain awful!   November 15, 2009

It worked the 1st time I used the cable. I set my Wii to 480p (because that is why I bought this) and it took about a minute to register that. I tried using my Wii a second time with this cable and could only get audio, TV could not find a signal - now I am back on the original cable. This HD Link was a piece of junk!!!

5 out of 5 stars A Must For Wii Owners On An HDTV   November 12, 2009

I like these cables and am happy with my purchase. Plenty of other reviewers have explained why these cables aren't going to make your Wii's graphics look like an Xbox 360 BUT why you should buy them anyway if you have an HDTV. Some of my games were frustrating me due to what I know know as the signal converter causing lag. I thought my wiimotes were going bad or my Wii was buggy. The connectors are very sturdy and the cabling is well shielded. At Amazon's price these are a great deal.

Hi,

I purchased this so the Wii and TV devices I have would hopefully function and seem better. Do not get me wrong Nintendo Wii is amazing but graphics aren't great as the PS3 or Xbox 360.

This cable have improved refresh rate and pixel quality I recommend it for those gamers who love the game play of the Wii while still having decent graphics to look at.

Regards,
Ahmad

5 out of 5 stars Wii Component Cable   November 4, 2009

I purchased the component cable in order to enhance the Wii's display. I would say that it improved the display by 20-30% by providing richer colors and clearer, more distinct graphics. It is not an expensive purchase and is extremely easy to install. Your set must have the component inputs, which are five horizontal inputs (3 video, 2 audio), that are typically part of the configuration of HD TV sets and I guess some older non-HD TVs. There are two red wires; make sure that each goes into the proper input -- that is, don't mix up audio with video. This upgrade for your Wii also frees up your composite inputs if you have an older system which requires access to those. I think for the approx. $20 bucks, purchasing this upgraded cable is a smart buy. In researching other accessories, I have purchased and am awaiting a fan device that attaches to the console and cools it during play (or stand by mode, if you use that feature). Seems like a smart purchase to protect your investment. I have read about the wirless sensor bar, which may or may not make sense for my set up. From what I'm understanding, it does not actually receive signal from the remotes (nor does the one that comes bundled), but rather emits light which in turn allows the remote to communicate with the console wirlessly (converting your movement into input for the Wii to interpret). If the light(s) somehow allows the remotes to better communicate with the console, I'll consider it in the future. In the meantime, my current sensor is fine. So, for now, it's this component cable and the console fan that make sense to me. Enjoy your Wii.
