Product Description
The Jansport® Equinox technical weekender backpack offers a sporty and versatile design you can use for day hikes or for hauling around town. It's constructed from tough, 450-denier RipStop fabric and includes a comfortable padded back, an internal organizer and a convenient cell phone pocket.

Amazon.com Product Description
Hikers know the value of a good daypack, which must be comfortable, moderately spacious, and versatile. Enter the JanSport Equinox, an 1,850-cubic-inch daypack that meets all of the above requirements with ease. The Equinox offers dual AirCore shoulder straps made of comfortable dual-density foam, with breathable mesh back straps for increased air circulation. More significantly, the daypack's two large main compartments can hold everything from sack lunches to rain gear to first-aid kits. Add in a front utility pocket with an organizer for essentials and a side-mesh water bottle pocket and you have plenty of storage for both full-day hikes and school outings.

Other details include side compression straps to help keep the pack close to the body and manage the load, daisy-chain quick clip points, reflective zipper pulls for nighttime visibility, lashing straps for a jacket or rain gear, and a haul loop for larger items. The Equinox--which is made of 420-denier nylon and 210-denier vert cordura--measures 12 by 20 by 7 inches (W x H x D) and weighs 1 pound 2 ounces.

4 out of 5 stars It is hardy and lightweight, but still the "pregnant" effect.   September 12, 2009

This year I bought this bag. Last year I bought the JanSport Odyssey Daypack. (I must have gotten a smoking deal on it because it was only $80 and I see it is now over $110.) They both are very good and hardy bags. The Odyssey is heavier than this bag but EXTREMELY comfortable with the gel tabs in the straps. This bag is comfortable, but not as good as the Odyssey but that is why it is lighter. Still both are easy to use and adjust, have good quality zippers and material and we really like them. Like most big day-pack bags, they have poor internal distribution - i.e. the pregnant effect. As you pack them fuller and fuller, they start to look and act like a pregnant belly waiting to give birth (been there, done that). It sticks out and down. Still - in our opinion - JanSport bags are the best for the money.

4 out of 5 stars Ideal backpack   August 3, 2009

This is a great backpack, has served me very well as a day pack, I use it a lot. It's not super bulky and is really well shaped to fit along my back. That said, the strap on the first one I bought broke the very first time I put it on... I sent it back for a refund, and got a new one, and I've been happy since. I've definitely given it reason for a bit of wear and tear in the last six months, but it has held up well.

It is a good product. Very light. However, it does not have as much space as I would have prefered. I am a student so I put all my notebooks in it and sometimes, there is not enough room.

I used this bag on a 3 month Asia vacation and I am very happy with it. I carried a 15.4" Labtop, day gear, snacks, hydration, umbrella, poncho and more. Also, it distributes the weight very evenly, great for long walks. highly recommend.
