broke in one week March 25, 2009 D. Steiner (arizona) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Gave this to my son for his birthday and the handle broke off in one week.
Nice pack, weak wheels March 15, 2009 John G. Bennett (WA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This pack has been in use for just under 2 quarters carrying books at college. It is light, tough, and well organized. Unfortunately, the wheels are already completely worn out. The outer rubber layer has shredded, leaving the smaller, noisier cores. The wheels do not appear to be replaceable.
With durable wheels, this would have been a winner. I guess the rubber outer layer helped keep it quiet, but what good is that if they shred? If you don't expect to be rolling a lot, or maybe your school does not have sidewalks between classes so you roll on smooth floors, you might be ok with this.
Great travel bag January 31, 2009 D. Hill 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This bag held up well travelling as a rolling carryon on a medium-length trip with a plane change, 3 other carryons, a car seat and a baby. So you can guess it got a little abuse on the trip, but it held up fine. No problems with the single strut handle or the wheels. It never once did that annoying flip/roll that my carryons sometimes do.
I didn't think I'd like the way the laptop is contained in the bag: the pocket is in the front flap instead of the back of the bag. But it worked just fine and my fears of the laptop slipping out when I opened the bag were unfounded. I have a big, heavy 17" Toshiba monster and it fit perfectly, along with all my other equipment.
The only complaint I would have is that with the weight of the bag, computer and accessories, I did not even attempt to use it as a backpack and I'm not sure I ever would.
Pull handle separated from bag in less than 2 months January 28, 2009 J. Matus (Gainesville, GA) Purchased this bag in mid-November of 08' for my daughter in 5th grade. A week ago (less than 2 months) the aluminum handle pulled right out of the backpack. The bag has only been used for 6 weeks, as Christmas break was 2 weeks of non-use.
The bag seems very high-quality. The bag itself is well made. However, I will definitely not purchase another.
Kudos to Amazon for issuing a replacement bag immediately. If the bag were not replaced I would have purchased another brand.
very good bag November 13, 2008 L. De Loach (Pennsylvania, USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this bag for my last two semesters in college. After I bought my laptop, and put heavy textbooks in a regular backpack, carrying the backpack around was really taking a toll on my back. So after i purchased this bag, my back pain was relieved because its on wheels.
The only thing I would improve about this bag is make it out of waterproof material for when it rains.
