5 out of 5 stars The Robe I Hoped It Would Be!   January 18, 2009

I purchased the burgundy color because it had the feel of cozy winter. The down used is ample for the mid-west climate in winter. Having lived in the northeast, I feel it would provide the warmth needed there, too. It definitely is long enough (I'm 5'7") and provides my ankles with cozy warmth. Admittedly, I wear fleece socks with Acorn's boiled wool Fiesta slippers, but I'm cozy when outside in the cold feeding my birds and cleaning my birdbath in the morning. No more high heating bills with THIS robe.

The robe recommends two dry cleanings a year. Since I just purchased it, I haven't dry-cleaned it as yet nor have I washed it. But since I am proportionate to my height, I got the XL size; I'd rather have too much cloth than not enough. I feel the XL is just right. If you're on the heavier side, I'd recommend a XXL because it may shrink a bit when washed.

The sleeves on this robe stay rolled-up when I'm doing dishes yet roll down amply enough to give me warmth when needed.

It arrived ON TIME for Christmas and packaged with great care. Thanks, Warm Things, on a superior product. I will definitely order more from Warm Things in the future.

3 out of 5 stars Leaks but VERY warm   January 7, 2008

Bought this for my wife for Christmas and the other 3 star reviewer is right, it leaks. Not badly but steadily, at least, so far. My experience is that all down products leak a little at first but this seems more than what I'd consider normal. It is especially noticeable in the areas that take weight, like the shoulders.

But she says it is very warm. Another issue is the length. I bought her a small (she is 5 foot 3) she struggles to go up stairs because it is kind of long. We'll see after the first dry cleaning if that changes.

I'll update: it has almost stopped leaking, so I'd up it to 4 stars. But I can't. Outstanding robe, at least for your heating bill.

The down robe I purchased for my daughter is wonderful, she loves it so much she wears it all of the time....It is very warm and very "generous" in size so it is very comfortable....

5 out of 5 stars Excellent Robe, but choose size carefully   January 17, 2007

This is a wonderful robe; I agree with everything mentioned in other reviews (except for the feather leakage...not a problem I have noticed.)However: I bought a Small; it fit perfectly until I washed it (gentle cycle, cold water, tumble dried on low) and it shrank up to be too short in length and sleeves and too tight across the shoulders. I love it so much that I am going to buy a Medium and give the Small away.
I don't do dry cleaning, and I wear the robe enough so that it needs washing more than twice a year(!). So choose your size carefully if you plan to machine wash it.

5 out of 5 stars The BEST robe I've ever owned!   December 27, 2006

Our house is drafty and chilly and every winter I tote around my down blanket. But not anymore! Received this robe for Christmas and I haven't left the house since. It covers to the floor keeping my feet warm (I'm 5'4")and the sleeves can be folded back if too long and it is still comfortable and looks nice.

A fantastic, quality product, highly recommended!
