JanSport Air Vital backpack March 30, 2009 Corinne Kriegel 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Great backpack! I have had the same one in red for over a year and being a fashion-conscious female wanted a new color to work with my spring wardrobe. The red one still looks practically brand-new even after 2x per week use/abuse and a winter road trip to Yosemite. I spent so much time evaluating different packs before buying the red one and was so pleased with it that I just ordered the same pack in a different color. My only complaint is that the straps could be a little more contoured to avoid cutting in at the trapezius muscles.
Sturdy, good for kids March 23, 2009 Ross A. Seymour (La Crosse, WI United States) My kids got these a couple of years ago (teenagers). They have held up great. No ripping or tearing, zippers still work. I got one myself and I like it too.
Pros: The straps are comfortable. There's a small phone/MP3 player zippered pocket on the top, under the handle. Top handle not just ornamental, padded.
Cons: Wish there were more internal slots for things like pens, etc. in the front pocket. There's only a mesh sort of half pocket. I don't like the compression straps on either side of the backpack. I have these on some other bags and I don't like them there either. They get in the way and I don't find I need to strap down the contents that often.
Mystery: There's a little pocket on the top of the right strap. What is that for?
Great daypack November 28, 2008 SBK (Santa Barbara, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought it on a sale in amazon about 6 months back and its great.
Pros
+ Ergonomic. Feels very balanced even when fully loaded
+ Can carry laptop (preferable in a neoprene sleeve) + couple of books + water bottle etc.
Cons
- Wish the front compartment had more pockets to organize stuff.
Definitely Recommended.
Durable, Comfortable, Perfect September 3, 2008 Lisa Yamagishi (New Paltz, NY USA) I love this product! I bought this for a intensive hiking/camping trip and was able to fit all of our clothes and necessities in it. The "Air Vital" straps make carrying the heaviest loads comfortable to your shoulders. My boyfriend loved this product so much he is even using it for college. Great backpack with a smart design!
Great bag with one minor flaw. May 11, 2008 Steve 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Jansport always delivers on the quality of their bags. The Air Vital is no exception. It holds my laptop and two large textbooks with ease. The only problem I've come across is that there aren't many small pockets for holding pens and pencils. I've been putting my pens in the iPod pocket at the top, but do I store my iPod and my cell phone there from time to time, so it is a bit hard to stay organized in that pocket.
