Product Description An all-time classic way to store blocks. The ABC Flyer is actually two toys in one: a set of Uncle Goose standard 28 ABC blocks and a pull toy. Young children love to pull the wagon around the room, perhaps with a favorite teddy bear or doll onboard. Sturdy basswood pull wagon
Editorial Review Like the alphabet blocks in Grandma's attic, this set of 28 wooden blocks features carved letters with fancy scroll borders and simple ink drawings. Individual blocks feature four sides with different colored letters. One side has a number, one side has a picture and spelling of the object below it, such as an owl or duck. Unlike Grandma's blocks, however, these are printed with nontoxic color ink. And to avoid destroying nonrenewable forests, they're made of basswood that's cut from industry-owned and managed land in Michigan. The blocks come inside a nostalgic, wooden pull-toy wagon. Toddlers can load up the wagon and make household deliveries. The blocks can also be used to make all kinds of imaginative structures and, of course, as a tool for becoming familiar with numbers and letters. --Gail Hudson

blocks great, skip the wagon November 21, 2009 mom of one Blocks are great. Large durable wooden blocks, great quality.
I docked a star because the string that pulls the wagon is too short for my 15 month old son. Slightly disappointing since I paid the extra for the wagon. The wheels don't roll all that well either, since it's made purely of wood.
Just get the blocks, forget the wagon.
Best wood block set October 20, 2009 McLean Mami (McLean, VA) Not only it's beautiful but it's educational, the colors/fonts are so pretty. My 20 mo. daughter really likes the set, stacking the blocks and knocking them over makes her laugh it's so cute. We had bought her another set before this one but it was horrible, the blocks were too small and slippery so she couldn't stack them.
These blocks are sturdy and just the right size for little hands; my daughter can handle them easily. I don't really think they are a choking hazard unless they bite a chunk off which seems pretty impossible.
I am so glad we found this set, best of all it's lead free (not made in china) Gotta love MADE IN THE USA!
Beautiful, durable wonderful toy August 17, 2009 A. Duran (California) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Bought these for my 6 month old who is now 10 months. We bought one set in Spanish and one in English. He loves them, enjoys when we stack them up and he gets to knock them down. He grabs two and crawls around with one in each hand, just doesn't want to let go. He bangs them on the floor to make music and of course bites on them sometimes.
I have not seen any paint wearing off, no chips or splinters, the wood is lightweight and durable. The engraving is intricately carved and I can guess they use a laser engraver for the logo/brand name on each block, which is so tiny you almost might need a magnifying glass to read it.
I've had many compliments about how nice these are and although I was hesitant to spend so much on blocks, I saw some of the other brands out there and didn't like how the Melissa and Dougs were not as nicely carved, much smaller (too small in my opinion) and not in different languages.
Great! April 8, 2009 N. Williams (Euharlee, GA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Uncle Goose products are so classic. I wanted something to give my son for his first birthday that he could play with now and would be durable enough to keep for him to give to his children one day. There are so many different games that you can play with these blocks. They are so cute and almost vintage looking. The colors are beautiful and classic, not the bright primary colors that you find on the cheaper blocks.
THE BEST ABC BLOCKS EVER! January 21, 2009 FUN FAMILY (NY State) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
*EXCELLENT TOY AND VERY EDUCATIONAL!* THESE ARE MINT HIGH-QUALITY ABC BLOCKS BY UNCLE GOOSE - IN FACT, THE BEST I HAVE EVER SEEN! I'VE BEEN BUYING SIMILAR BLOCKS FOR ALMOST A DECADE (MY OLDEST IS 10 YEARS OLD AND MY YOUNGEST IS 12 MONTHS), AND NO OTHER BLOCKS COMPARE. THE SCRIPT AND DESIGNS ARE ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL AND MADE WITH SO MUCH CARE. THEY ARE EXTREMELY DURABLE - THE PAINT DOESN'T PEEL OR RUN - AND THE WOOD DOES NOT CHIP OFF. THEY ARE NON-TOXIC AND MADE RIGHT HERE IN THE USA. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND SPENDING THE EXTRA MONEY TO PURCHASE THESE BLOCKS - DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON LOW-GRADE IMMITATIONS OR YOUR CHILD WILL GET A MOUTH FULL OF TOXIC SPLINTERS. THESE BLOCKS WILL LAST FOR YEARS AND GENERATIONS TO COME AND YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT. THE WOOD WAGON IS NOT NECESSARY, HOWEVER ITS DEFINITELY AN ADDED BONUS IF YOU CAN SPARE THE EXTRA MONEY... IT NEATLY HOLDS THE BLOCKS FOR STORAGE AND MY KIDS HAVE A GREAT TIME PULLING THE BLOCKS (AND MANY OTHER TOYS). THE WAGON IS ALSO HIGH-QUALITY WOOD AND WILL LAST FOR YEARS. WHY CAN'T ALL TOYS BE MADE LIKE THIS? THANK YOU UNCLE GOOSE FOR PUTTING CHILDREN FIRST!!!
